GUIDELINES FOR THE TOURNAMENT

UP Chess Sports Association & Lucknow District Chess Sports Association is organizing International Rating VI - UP STATE Senior Chess Championship-2011 (Fide Rated) on behalf of
from 07-06-2011 to 11.06.2011 Free lodging (dormitory) will be provided to all the participants with one official only, and office bearers of UPCSA. Other accompanying persons will be charged Rs. 700/- per person. All the players are requested to bring their own, room locks, chess boards & pieces and chess clocks.

Seventh to Tenth - 800/- each Other Special Prises Worth Rs1500/-
11th to 20th - 500/- each
Entry Fee : For regular players Rs. 1000/- per player. Special Entry Rs. 1250/- per player.

Tournament System :
i. The tournament will be played under swiss system of league governed by latest FIDE rules for Chess. Each session will be of Three Four hours duration
ii. To break the tie following order, Bucolz And M Bucolz,Progressive > Cut Progressive > Toss will be followed. To decide the championship in the place of toss a maximum of three 5 minute games will be played. If still there is tie the Toss will decide the winner.
iii. Introduction of clocks will be subject to availability.
iv. Protest if any can be made within 30 minutes from the completion of the game along with a protest fee of Rs. 500/- which is refundable if the protest is upheld.
v. The decision of players committee will be final and binding to all.
ELIGIBILITY
i. Four Players from every affiliated District/Unit of UPCSA. All the arrears of affiliation fee including current year (2009-10 ) and other dues if any must be cleared by the concerned District/Unit prior to submission of entries.Disstrict/units will not be allowed if arrears are not cleared. players participating from district without association have to pay Rs. 750- entry fees for the tournament
ii. Top Four Players from the previous U. P. State Senior Chess Championship. As regular entry
iii. Top Two players from the previous U. P. State Rapid Chess Championship. As regular entry
iv. Top Two players from the previous U.P. Junior Chess Championship. As regular entry
v. Top Two players from the previous U.P. Sub-Junior Chess Championship. As regular entry
vi. Top Two players from the previous U.P. Youth Chess Championship. As regular entry
vii. Top Two players each from the U.P. U-7, 9, and 11 Chess Championships. As regular entry
viii. 4 players who could not participated in their District tournament, as may be nominated by the Hon. Gen. Secretary of UPCSA following the recommendation of concerned. District secretary.
ix. 4 players from Zonal offices of LIC, Railways, Banks in the State, Central Govt. and State Level undertakings and Nagar Nigam on payment of temporary affiliation fee of Rs. 4000/-. For Universities of the State temporary affiliation will be Rs. 1000/-.
x. President and Vice President and hon. Gen Sec. of UPCSA can participate directly
xi. All Fide Rated players of UP are allowed directly after the clearance of dues from their respective Districts/Units. As regular entry
xii. Host Association is entitled for 4 extra entries. As regular entry
IMPORTANT
i. Every participant must be present at the Prize Distribution Function and collect the certificate by himself. Smoking, Pan Masala, And Liquor is Strictly Prohibited in campus.
ii. The tournament committee reserves the right to make any change in the schedule, venue of the tournament on short notice. tournament committee reserve the right to accept or reject
any entry without assigning any reason.
iii. Registered with LDCSA (for Lucknow Reg. Fee Rs.50/-)and UPCSA (Reg. Fee Rs. 100/-) and AICF (Reg. Fee Rs. 250/-) only are eligible to participate in the tournament

v. Affiliated District associations/Academies/Schools/Institutions and other units must pay
their affiliation of 11-2012, an dues before 31 st march of every year otherwise they
will be automatically disaffiliated and their players will have to pay rs.250/- per
player with regular entry fees. Entries must be over unit’s letter head
